Creation of Education Network by experts in the education sector. From the outset, the NGO adopted an apolitical stance and set itself the goal of contributing to a fair, inclusive and high-quality Malagasy education system, based on data, advocacy and collective action.

2010
Generating useful decision-making data

Conducting the national literacy needs assessment (MEN–UNDP).
Impact: development of a three-year action plan incorporating gender and disability dimensions, used as a basis for public policy guidance.

2010–2011
Inform, mobilise, influence

Launch of the Akon’ny Fanabeazana newsletter (37,000 copies) and production of educational radio programmes.
Impact: increased access to educational information and strengthening of the national public debate on education.

2011
A career built on expertise and influence
Quality and equity in learning

Conducting national studies on school hours, repeating a year and community teachers.
Impact: formulation of concrete recommendations to reduce school failure and improve the efficiency of the education system.

2012–2013
Evaluate to improve public policy

Impact assessment of the Education for All (EFA) Plan funded by the Fast Track Initiative, with support from UNICEF. Impact: analysis of the performance of reforms, their sustainability and the strengthening of national capacities.

2014–2025
Strengthen influence and expertise

Active contribution by members to major national educational reforms: basic and post-basic education, textbook policies, school construction, teacher careers, the PITAF education transformation programme.
Impact: greater consideration of realities on the ground in education policies and recognition of the role of Education Network as an expert actor.
